In the revered lineage of the Rig Vedic Purvamnaya Govardhan Math, Puri Peeth, the present
Shrimadjagadguru Shankaracharya is Anantashree Vibhushit Swami Nischalananda Saraswati Mahabhag, the 145th Shankaracharya in this tradition. Counting from Lord Shrimannarayana, he is the 155th in the unbroken guru-parampara.
He was born on Ashadha Krishna Trayodashi, Wednesday, under Rohini Nakshatra, Palm Samvat 2000 (corresponding to June 30, 1943), in Haripur Bakshitola village of the Mithilanchal region (then Darbhanga, now Madhubani district), Bihar. His birth name was Nilamber Jha, son of Shri Lalvanshi Jha, royal priest of Darbhanga Naresh, and Shrimati Geeta Devi.
On Vaishakh Krishna Ekadashi, Palm Samvat 2031 (April 18, 1974), in Haridwar, he was initiated into sannyasa by Dharmasamrat Swami Hariharananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj (Karpatri Ji Maharaj) and given the monastic name Nischalananda Saraswati.
On Magha Shukla Shashthi (February 9, 1992), the then Shankaracharya, Swami Niranjandev Tirtha Ji Maharaj, formally anointed him as the 145th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Puri Peeth. Maharajshree is a staunch advocate of scientific inquiry, believing only in what is validated through scientific, philosophical, and practical reasoning. He actively engages with premier academic and research institutions such as ISRO, DRDO, AIIMS, BARC, IIMs, JNU, DU, BHU, NTPC, PUSA, CA Association, Supreme Court Bar Association, and Tribhuvan Universit (Nepal), among others, offering spiritual and intellectual guidance through discourses and dialogues.
He has made significant contributions to Sanatan Vedic literature, authoring over 200 works on diverse subjects. Notably, more than 20 of his books focus on the mathematical foundations of Vedic knowledge. His ninth mathematical treatise, ‘Ganitasutram’, comprises 304 sutras, of which 62 are derived from the Vedas and Upanishads, while the rest are his original compositions. An upcoming work of approximately 1542 pages, expanding upon a 25-page core explanation of Vedic mathematics, is set to be published soon

Nationwide Seminar Campaign Inspired by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda
Saraswati Ji Mahabhag As you all know, Rig Vedic Purvamnaya Puri Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati Ji Mahabhag declared during his Chaturmas stay at Shri Govardhan Math, Puri Peeth in late 2021 (Samvat 2078) that India will become a Hindu Rashtra within three and a half years. According to him, 80% of this mission has been completed, with only 20% remaining.
To complete this mission, under the guidance of Shankaracharya Ji and the supervision of the Peeth Parishad, organizations like Aditya Vahini and Anand Vahini are spearheading a public awareness campaign. Talented individuals from across India—spiritually aware, socially committed,and scientifically informed—are being invited to contribute their energy to this cause.
Selected individuals are trained and engaged through weekly seminars held across various states, with the aim of launching a national upliftment movement on a global scale. This campaign envisions the creation of a cultured, educated, secure, prosperous, service-oriented, healthy, and dharmic society
Objective of the Seminar
The core aim is to inspire a healthy ideological revolution—safeguarding the ideals, existence, and security of Hindus and of Bharat Mata, as envisioned by Pujya Shankaracharya Ji. This involves strengthening Aditya Vahini and Anand Vahini at panchayat, tehsil, district, and state levels, transforming temples and monasteries into hubs of education, defense, service, purity, economy, character, compassion, dharma, and moksha.
The weekly seminar initiative supports this ideological transformation and national awakening. We sincerely urge all well-wishers to organize such seminars in their regions under the aegis of the Dharma Sangha Peeth Parishad and the Aditya Vahini (men) / Anand Vahini (women) branches guided by Shri Govardhan Math Puri Peethadheeshwar Anantashree Vibhushit Shiva Swaroop Shrimad Bhagavatguru Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati Ji Mahabhag. This is in service of Sanatan Dharma and the goal of making India a Hindu Rashtra.
